Simple Sentence
It consists of one independent clause. An independent clause
contains a subject and a verb and expresses a complete
thought.
Example/s:

Example/s:
• Mary and Samantha took the bus.
"Mary and Samantha" = compound subject, "took" = verb
• I looked for Mary and Samantha at the bus station.

noon for the bus.
"Mary and Samantha" = compound subject, "arrived" and "waited" =

Compound Sentence
Compound Sentences- is two or more independent clauses
joined by a coordinating conjunction or semicolon. Each of
the clauses could form a sentence alone
