Verb to be

We use it to tell time, talk about the weather,


give someone´s age, give the place of origin,
give a location, describe/classify someone or
something.

• The verb to be is the fundamental verb used to


indicate the existence of an entity (person, object,
abstraction) or to relate an entity to its qualities or
characteristics

We use it to describe an action that takes place


on a regular basis.
• I think you guys are wonderful students.
• What do you consider your best accomplishment?
• I usually get up at 6 am but start operating by noon.

Present Continuous

Also known as present progressive, it expresses


something that is happening at the moment;
actions that are currently taking place.
