PAINTING SYSTEM

Step 01: Sanding


Orbital sanding the bare metal with P40 grit sanding
disc to create a coarse surface for the application of
primer

Step 02: Cleaning / Degreasing


The sanded steel is air blown to remove the dust and
Cleaned with Mipa Silicon remover to remove any dirts,
oils and grease from the substrate to be coated.

Step 03: Primer Application

EP 140-30 EP 905-05 Thinner
Epoxy Primer surfacer Epoxy Hardener fast 2K Universal thinner

3 : 1 : 1
The Epoxy Primer surfacer – provided in the same
color of topcoat, applied over the ballistic steel
to protect from corrosion and to achieve good
leveling for high quality finishing.
Spray gun: HVLP (1.6 – 2.0mm nozzle) no. of coats: 1-2 spray passes
Drying time: 10 – 12 hours @20 ̊C [30 min @60 ̊C] Pot Life: 5 Hours

Step 04: Filler (putty) Application


Mipa Multi filler Beige is applied to surface level the
substrate to have a smooth finishing.
Application method: spatula / putty blade Hardener: 2% PE Red
Drying time: 20 min @20 ̊C [5 min @60 ̊C] Pot Life: 3 -4 min @ 20 ̊C

Step 05: Sanding


The Filler Applied surface is sanded with P80 and all
the surface with P240 disc to have a perfect smooth
level for the topcoat paint application.

Step 06: Cleaning / Degreasing


The sanded surface is air blown to remove the dust and
Cleaned with Mipa Silicon remover to remove all
powder dust from the substrate to be coated.

Step 07: Chassis Silicon application


Apply PU sealant on the body joints to seal the gaps and fix
the body parts. Overcoatable with 2K paints after 30 minutes.

Step 08: Topcoat application (interior)

2K PU 240-XX paint Mipa MS 25 2K Universal thinner

2 : 1 : 10 – 20%

The 2K paint is applied interior of the vehicle and parts as per the
design of the model. The applied parts are allowed to cure before
the assembly
Spray gun: HVLP (1.3 – 1.4mm nozzle) no. of coats: 2 spray passes
Drying time: 6 – 8 hours @20 ̊C [30 min @60 ̊C] Pot Life: 4 Hours

Step 09: Texture coating

Texture Paint Hardener Thinner
2K PU 330-20 paint Mipa MS 25 2K Universal thinner

3 : 1 : 10 – 20%
The texture paint is applied on the exterior of the vehicle and
accessories that are assembled on the outside of the vehicle.
Spray gun: schutz gun (4 – 5mm nozzle) no. of coats: 2 spray passes
Drying time: 3 - 4hours @20 ̊C [30 min @60 ̊C] Pot Life: 2 -3 Hours

Step 10: Camouflage coating

2K PU 240-XX paint Mipa MS 25 2K Universal thinner

2 : 1 : 10 – 20%

The camouflage paint is also same quality of Topcoat, the color is as


per the design. Application is carried out by making pointed spray.
The colors of camouflage is as per standard RAL colors.
Spray gun: HVLP (1.3 – 1.4mm nozzle) no. of coats: 2 spray passes
Drying time: 6 – 8 hours @20 ̊C [30 min @60 ̊C] Pot Life: 4 Hours

Step 11: Clear coating

Clearcoat Hardener Thinner
Mipa 2K CCM matt Mipa MS 25 2K Universal thinner

2 : 1 : 10 – 20%
The exterior of the vehicle is applied with semi gloss Clearcoat over
the vehicle body to achieve a uniform gloss level
Spray gun: HVLP (1.3 – 1.4mm nozzle) no. of coats: 2 spray passes
Drying time: 6 – 8 hours @20 ̊C [30 min @60 ̊C] Pot Life: 4 Hours
