An e-commerce store offers many advantages to its
customer compared to a physical store in terms of:
Variety in products, Accessibility, Powerful research when
comparing products, competitive pricing and much more.
It’s so easy for a customer to buy almost anything online
with just a click. But, before a customer buys something
online from a new store, he/she is insecure about many
things unlike offline shopping.

 The customer is an avid online customer or just starting.
Anyone will think twice before providing their credit card
information. Identity theft and other types of Internet
frauds are some of the most pervasive crimes of our
times. This is the strongest force that has kept customers
from doing online transactions.
Trust Barrier
Trust is the key to any successful business may it be
online or offline. It is challenging esp. when you have just
entered the business, as the store with the better brand
value will attract all the customers even though the
pricing and quality you offer is comparatively reasonable.
But through online customer cannot trust easily because
it is not a face to face relationship.
Hidden cost
Some people shop online for the selection and the
convenience, but others do so for the savings. However,
some of these customers are wary of hidden fees and
charges, which include shipping and handling.
WYSIWYG(what you see is what you get)
When people shop in a store, they can touch the items,
examine the color, look at the care instructions, and even
try them on. But e-commerce stores do not posses these
advantages. The physical experience of products doesn’t
exist while shopping online and sometimes people don’t
get what they see in product images.
Delivery status
It is customary for the customers to get the real time
delivery of the products they buy from mall/store. Hence,
no risk is taken as – They see, they buy & they take! This
again adds to the limitation of the online stores.
Consumer faces a major problem with respect to
websites dedicated to the retail trade, due to a bad
delivery, especially in the long term.
