HOW TO MAKE FRIED RICE 

Ingredients:
• 2 cloves of garlic  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable
• 2 onions  • A plate of rice 
• An egg  • Salt

Steps:
• First, chop garlic and onions into the small pieces.
• Second, heat vegetable oil on a frying pan. Third, put the chopped garlic and onion
into the hot vegetable oil. Fry them for a while.
• Fourth, add an egg into the pan and stir them. Fifth, put one plate of rice. Fry and
mix them for around 3 minutes.
• Sixth, add two pinches of salt. Continue frying until the rice is mixed perfectly. 
• Finally, put the fried rice on a plate. Fried rice is ready to serve.
So what is the definition of
procedure Text?
Procedure Text, is a text that gives us commands or
instructions to do something. Usually this type of
text begins with the phrase "How to ...", such as
"How to make a cup of tea" or "How to operate the
machine". Procedure Text is widely available in
cookbook and manual.
What is the purpose of Procedure
Text?
The purpose of the Text Procedure is to
explain how something is made, done or
used through through sequence of steps
The structure
1. Aim / Goal
This aim is the purpose of the Procedure text. Usually in the form of a title
or description of what will be made or done.

2. Materials/Ingredients
This section contains a list of materials/ingredients and tools to complete
the procedure text. But not all procedure text requires material.

3. Steps
The steps section contains a series of steps that must be carried out
sequentially. These steps must be carried out so that the objectives stated
in the Aim / Goal section can be achieved

Characteristics of procedure text


• Use simple present tense.
• Use the imperative sentence pattern. Examples are "Cut the
banana into pieces“ "Heat the water for 5 minutes", and more
• Use action verbs, such as crack, chop, cut, heat, mix, and so on.
• Use sequence adverbs are to links between one activity and
another, for example, firstly, secondly, then, after that, finally, last,
and so on.
• Adverbs are used to describe time, such as: in 10 minutes, for 1
hour. In addition, it can also be used to give a description of the
manner, such as slowly, thoroughly, well, fast, etc.
