• Nowadays there are so many dating applications available on the internet for users can use and
choose. For example, such as Omi, WeChat, tinder etc..
• From all those online dating applications that is where the love scam come. Mostly, women
involve in this love scam compared to men.
• One of the impacts regarding love scam is the loss of money and the second one would be the loss
of a relationship that involves a deep emotional and psychologicaltrauma.
• They further state that, even though they have been told that it is not even genuine, some victims 
find it difficult to leave the relationship.
• Scams are also known as ‘catfishing’.
• Scammers typically create fake profiles with fake information’s, fake picture designed to lure you
in. They may use a fictional name, or falsely take on the identities of real, trusted people such as
military personnel, aid workers or professionals working abroad.
• Scammers will go to great lengths to gain your interest and trust, such as showering you with
loving words, sharing some ‘personal information’ that can make you believe about it and even
sending you gifts to show some efforts.
• The scammer may also claim they want to travel to visit you but cannot afford it unless you are
able to lend them money to cover flights or other travel expenses.
• Love scam can come in many ways, so we have to alert and beware.
