Literature Review
• Learning- make meaning of an
experience through subsequent
understanding, appreciation and action
• learning happen through external
interaction between learner and his/her
social, cultural or environment, and an
internal psychological process
• Organizations should continue invest in
learning

Conceptual Model Underlying
the Study
• Self-determination Theory (SDT) will be
reviewed and adopts as a theoretical
framework
• Self-determined means freely chosen and
not under pressure from internal need or
external force
• Self-determined behavior motivated action
that we engage in KS because of our
willingness

Research Methodology
• Population or Sample- SMEs firms in Johor
• operate in the manufacturing sector with
sales turn over below RM50 million or
employed below 200 full-time workers
• Malaysian government encourage
manufacturing firms expand in SMEs sector
• manufacturing sector is the most important
contributor to the Malaysian economy
Research Methodology
• Sampling Frame and Sample Size- used
published table by Israel (1992)

Sample Size for ±3%, ±5%, ±7%, and ±10% Precision Levels where
Confidence Level is 95% and P=0.5 (Israel, 1992, pp.3)
Data Analysis- Structural Equation
Modeling (SEM)
• SEM is a powerful statistical technique to
solve or calculated Confirmatory Factor
Analysis (CFA), analyzing multiple
regressions, regressions with multi-
collinearity problem, path analysis with
multiple dependents, estimating the
correlation and covariance, and modelling
the inter-relationships among variables
(mediator or moderator)
Data Analysis- SEM
• Analysis of Moments Structures
(AMOS)
• this program could model and analyze the
inter-relationships among latent construct
effectively, accurately, and efficiently
through multiple equations of inter-
relationships in a model
• graphics presentation of the model
