Job of Supervisor: - The job of the supervisor is to organize and oversee
the manufacturing of goods. He has ultimately responsible for the smooth
running of all production process and the quality of output. The goal is to
ensure an efficient and productive manufacturing process that meets
customer requirements.

Job Analysis includes answering these three
questions…….
What an supervisor does?

Tasks: Speed setting, paper loading, ink spillage setting, setting ink/colour
ratio.

Duties: Maintaining the quality of the production, less waste production.

Responsibility: Keep the machine intact, completing the production on time.


How machine operator does it?

Methods: There is a step wise manual for the machine to operate. He


follows that manual to operate the machine.

Tools: Heidelberg machine software which is integrated with the machine.


The machine is automatic which runs on set of rules.

Techniques: Following the set of rules and procedure instructed by the


machine manual.
Qualification required?
Skills: Run the machine as per requirement. Should operate in any condition
like when the desired output gets changed repeatedly.

Knowledge: Should contain the knowledge of software of the machine and


also the working conditions of the machine. How does it work?, the capacity,
etc.

Abilities: Ability to solve any kind of problem which arises during the
production process. Should know all the in and out of the machine so that
small problems can be handled easily without delay in the process.

Behaviour: Should behave according to the company’s goal and should


understand the business.
Uses of Job Analysis Information

• The job analysis help the company to recruits the right kind of
employee they need to accomplish their goals.

• Training is an essential part of the job. Job analysis helps us to


understand which employee needs the specified training or not.

• Job analysis is also used in appraisal purpose. The knowledge and


enthusiasm of the machine operator helps him to get an appraisal.
