Motivation for the project
▪ Autogroup International (PVT) Ltd. was interested in implementing a computerized
system to do their manually done local services handling process.
▪ To solve the problems relating to service handling at the company because those
problems go through me also since I’m an employee of this company.
▪ The final year individual project is a key component of the Bachelor of Information
Technology degree program of the University of Colombo.
▪ To enhance the development skills and the practical knowledge in software engineering.
 Main operations carried out in the Autogroup
International (PVT) Ltd.
▪ Vehicle service job card creation.
▪ Adding new customers and customer vehicles to the company. All these operations are
currently doing
▪ Updating existing customer/vehicle information.

 Problems in the current manual
system
• The inflexibility of finding details of a booking.

• Customer registration is doing by filling some papers.

• Operation team use Excel sheets to keep update details about customer, vehicle, job card.

• They have to do confirmation / cancellation of service booking with the customers through making phone calls
on several times.

• Poor communication methods with the customers in business.

• There is no proper way to get all the data on time to generate the reports.
