HOME FIRE
INCIDENT Experience
Caught fire on cloth while cooking and did not realize the fire
Tried to extinguish with water by opening the utensil wash basin water tab
Not reachable to the fire location of the cloth
Decided to extinguish by hand (patting)
Shouted to help, rushed and extinguished the fire with nearby kitchen cloth
Rushed to the nearby hospital and given first aid and further treatment
The fire was quick, hence decided to remove the cloth and was not
removable
Rout cause of the fire:
Ignorance / took easy / never faced such incidents earlier
Applied VICKS VAPORUB around throat and chest to relief from common
cold
Vicks Vaporub is highly flammable and contains camphor, menthol,
spirits of turpentine, oil of eucalyptus, cedarwood, nutmeg, and thymol
Recommendation:

HOW TO PREVENT
Never leave your range or cooktop unattended while
cooking.
Wear short, close-fitting or tightly rolled sleeves.
Keep your cooking area clean and free of combustible
materials.
Be sure to clean up any spilled or splattered grease.
Keep a fire extinguisher and fire blankets readily available.
However, we know accidents happen so prepare your home and family by
having a residential fire extinguisher on hand
Fire extinguishers should be placed on every of your home, especially in the
kitchen and garage.
You should also learn how to properly use a fire extinguisher to be prepared
in the event you have to use one.
