BRIEF HISTORY
Bataraza was formerly a part of Brooke’s
Point. It become a separate municipality on June
18, 1961 by the virtue of Philippine Republic Act
No. 3425. The town was named after the late Datu
Bataraza Narrazid, a locally influential chieftain
and father of the town’s first mayor and former
