RAPPORT BUILDING

 WHAT IS RAPPORT BUILDING?

Rapport forms the basis of meaningful, close and
harmonious relationships between people. It's the
sense of connection that you get when you meet
someone you like and trust, and whose point of view
you understand. It's the bond that forms when you
discover that you share one another's values and
priorities in life.
IMPORTANCE OF RAPPORT
BUILDING

 Rapport is the ability to relate to others in a way that

creates a level of trust and understanding.
 It is important to build rapport with your
client/colleague as it gets there unconscious mind to
accept and begin to process your suggestions. They
are made to feel comfortable and relaxed-open to
suggestions.
RAPPORT BUILDING
According to researchers Linda Tickle - Degnen and Robert
Rosenthal, when you have a rapport with someone, you share:
 Mutual attentiveness: you're both focused on, and
interested in, what the other person is saying or doing.
 Positivity: you're both friendly and happy, and you show
care and concern for one another.
 Coordination: you feel "in sync" with one another, so that
you share a common understanding. Your energy levels,
tone and body language are also similar.
 This connection can appear instantly – when you "click"
with someone – or develop slowly, over time. It can grow
naturally, without intent, or you can deliberately set out to
build it.

CONCLUSION

 Building of rapport is essential amongst two or more

individuals, especially when they are working, dealing and
collaborating with each other. As the key to the successful
organizational relationships, it is important to be aware of
that rapport begins to develop, right from the very first
conversation that two individuals have with each other. From
the introductory session or the first meeting, individuals
begin to build rapport amongst each other. In order to make
sure that rapport has been build, an employer needs to be
aware about how other employees perceive him or her by
judging not only verbal but also non-verbal communication.
