A. Mathematics is the science of patterns and relationships.


Mathematics reveals hidden patterns that help us to understand the world around
us. Bertrand Russell( 1872-1970) claimed it to be “ the mother of all sciences.
Without it our lives would be incomprehensively pathetic. ”
Someone said “ A mathematician, like a painter or poet, is maker of patterns. If his
patterns are more permanent than theirs, it is because they are made by ideas.”
B. Mathematics is a way of thinking.
It relies on logic and creativity and it is pursued for a variety of practical
purposes and for its intrinsic interest.

C. Math is an Art
