Background :Deactivate the SFN for L2100 to improve Capacity with lower Capex 07/13/2021
• The single frequency network (SFN) feature allows multiple physical cells that work at the same frequency to be combined
into one SFN cell.
• The traffic volume in an SFN cell may increase after a period of time. If the PRB usage of an SFN cell exceeds 50-70% for
a long time, the SFN cell can be split into common cells

For existing sites from U2100 Multi-sector to L2100 SFN, deactivate the SFN
To get the multi sector capacity gain 50%~70% with existing HW/SW.

Q&A 07/13/2021
The traffic model is not fixed. Therefore, the traffic volume in an SFN cell may increase after a period of time. If the PRB
usage of an SFN cell exceeds 50% for a long time, the SFN cell can be split into common cells. PCIs need to be re-planned
after splitting.
