FAMOUS LEADERS
• ALBERT EINSTEIN

• MALALA YOUSAFZAI
• ALBERT EINSTEIN

A German-born physicist named Albert Einstein developed his first ground

breaking theories while working as a clerk in the Swiss patent office. After making his
Albert
name with four scientific articles published in 1905, he went on to win worldwide fame Einstein
for his general theory of relativity, and a Nobel Prize in 1921 for his explanation of the
phenomenon known as the photoelectric effect. Einstein immigrated from Germany to
the United States when the Nazis took power before World War 2. He lived and worked
in Princeton, New Jersey for the remainder of his life.
LEADERSHIP QUALITIES
Albert Einstein was a fantastic leader for all people especially young scientists. I think he is a fantastic leader
because he has discovered many interesting scientific things such as, his special theory of relativity and mass energy
equivalence, it was ground breaking in the twentieth century. He has also won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1921. He is
a leader to me because I absolutely love science, and thanks to him and other famous scientists we have leaned so
much about our world.
• MALALA YOUSAFZAI
As a young girl named Malala Yousafzai stood up against the Taliban in
Pakistan and demanded that girls be allowed to receive an education. She was
shot in the head by a Taliban gunman in 2012, but survived and went on to
receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Malala was born on July 12, 1997 in Mingora,
Pakistan. As a child, she became an advocate for girls’ education, which Malala
resulted in the Taliban issuing a death threat against her. On October 9, 2012 Yousafzai
a gunman shot Malala when she was traveling home form school on a bus.
She survived, and has continued to speak out on the importance of education
for girls. She was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 2013. In 2014 she
was nominated again and won, becoming the youngest person to receive the
Nobel Peace Prize.
LEADERSHIP QUALITIES
Malala Yousafzai is an amazing leader because she stood up for her rights, and she was fearless about
doing it. She was the youngest person to win a Nobel Peace Prize which is a huge accomplishment. What
I like most about her is she believed that girls have as much power, strength, and authority as boys do.
Even though she got shot by the Taliban because they believed she was doing the wrong thing she kept
going, and she fought for her rights. This is why I think that Malala Yousafzai is a great and amazing
leader.
Teacher Comments
• I like this presentation, because you compared two leaders who won the Nobel Peace Prize, and you
described the individual reasons why each deserved the recognition, plus you offered some insight into
your own personal reasons for choosing to recognize each one as a leader.
• Remember, however, to cite your sources.
