HYPOTHESIS
The students’ frequent use to Social Media has no significant effect on their Academic
performance.

will displace other activities. Social information processing theory by Joseph Waither (1992) it explains
online information.

POPULATION AND SAMPLE

The researchers will use the Universal Sampling Method or the Total Population sampling, a
type of non-probabilistic sampling the researchers considered to use as it fit the study and
using it would help get a more accurate result and to the questions the research seeks to
answer.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT

The questionnaires were adopted from Kolan,& Dzandza (2018) , for social
media as independent variable and Osharive (2015) for academic performance
to the students as dependent variable.
DATA CALLECTION

The data collection of this research study is to achieve the said objectives of the
study and to answer the questions and research was seeking to. This is to determine
the frequency use of the Social Media Platforms and the Academic Performance of
the Grade 11 Evening Class students. The researchers will be observing the following
steps for data collection of the study.
