CHANEL

the founder

What is chanel?

Chanel SA, or simply Chanel, is a

French fashion house, founded in
Paris by the designer Coco Chanel, in
1910. The izan brand specializes in
designing and making luxury items,
such as ready-to-wear haute couture
clothing, bags, perfumes and
cosmetics, among others.
The founder
Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel1 (1883-1971) began her
career in fashion in 1910.2 She announced new
designs and revolutionized the fashion industry
by "going back to basics", incorporating elegance,
class and originality. The Chanel logo quickly
became synonymous with elegance, wealth and
elitism, as well as a standard for international
fashion. However, the Chanel logo was not
registered as a trademark until the first Chanel
stores were established. Coco Chanel held the
title of Chief Designer until her death on January
10, 1971.
First Chanel perfume The legendary first Chanel perfume is undoubtedly the
best-selling and best-known of perfumes worldwide. It
has undergone very little change in its image and in the
scent of its essence.

It is considered to belong to the floral-

aldehyde family, whose most important
ingredients are jasmine and neroli from
Grasse (French region), ylang-ylang from
the Comoros, rose, vanilla, vetiver and
woody notes of sandalwood.
