LEARNING ACTIVITY 3

EVIDENCE:
ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE PROBLEM?

• between SEWA and its members. In the past few years, the Jumbish team has managed to
take up a number of issues related to waste pickers, and their achievements include.
Sadly, only a small portion of plastic bottles is recycled around the globe. This problem is
very serious, if we become aware of this everything would be better
WHAT WOULD BE A POSSIBLE SOLUTION FOR
IT?
A PET bottle thrown in the trash takes more than 150 years to degrade. But if it is
recovered and recycled, it can be used to make textile fibers to make blankets, clothing,
bags, rugs, footwear, ropes, brushes, brooms or new packaging.

if we separate the waste, value it and create products from it, we will achieve it!
DO YOU SEE THIS PROBLEM IN YOUR
COMMUNITY? WHAT DO PEOPLE DO ABOUT IT?
Yes, the people are unconscious, but there are some who do the recycling process well from
home

If you throw bottles into the sea, turtles, birds, fish and other marine animals run the risk of
becoming entangled with plastics
WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THE FUTURE TO HELP
SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?

If plastic is used less and less we will get results.

There are many companies that are using biodegradable plastic
