ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENGE(AI)

AND
IT’S SIGNIFICANCE TO THE
WORLD

PRESENTED BY
Shrutakirti
WHAT IS AI?
Ai is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines,
especially by computer systems.
AI was founded as an academic discipline in 1956 and the term was
coined in 1956.
4 types :- reactive machines, limited memory, theory of mind, self aware
In early 1980s, it was revived by the commercial success of expert
systems.
THE EXAMPLES OF AI
Meet Sophia, World's First AI Humanoid Robot
SIGNIFICANCE
 AI forms the basis for computer learning and is the future of all complex
decision making.
 AI assists in every area of our lives, whether we are trying to read our e-
mails, get music or movie recommendations.
 Web searching and email recommendations.
It saves time and money by automating and optimising routine processes
and tasks.
 Increase productivity and operational efficiencies.
Make faster business decisions based on outputs from cognitive
technologies.
LITERATURE REVIEW
The literature review is the process of consolidating the various
strands of past research into a single narrative describing the
evolution of the research domain.
The review itself is the final piece of the puzzle.
 Atkinson & Bench-Capon (2007)- The theory and practice of
reasoning in AI has extensive documentation.
The work by Tobies (2000) studies the complexity of combination of
the description logics with a terminological formalism based on
cardinality restrictions.
In another work, Cheng and Druzdzel (2000) develop an algorithm for
evidential reasoning in large Bayesian networks.
The concept of traditional plausibility is well treated in Halpern
(2000).
 Singer et al. (2003) introduce the backbone fragility and the local
search cost peak.
 Russel and Norvig (2010) remind us in their leading textbook on
artifial intelligence.
 Perez et al. (2017) describes Virtual agents can act as teachers,
facilitators or srudents’ peers, for example, in virtual or remote labs.
 Baker and Smith (2019), provide a broad definition of AI :
“Computers which perform cognitive tasks, usually associated with
human minds.
OBJECTIVES
the basic objective of AI is to enable computers to perform such
intellectual tasks as decision making, problem solving, perception.
 another main objective is to explain various sorts of intelligence.
 AI is to provide software that can reason on input and explain on
output.
The alignment of AI with related digital technologies heavily impacts
many areas.
