Vadakkunathan Temple

The Vadakkunathan Temple is an ancient Hindu


temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is
situated at the city of Thrissur of Kerala. The
temple has a monumental tower on each of the
four sides. The paintings inside the temple depict
various scenes from Mahabharata. It is believed
that the temple was built by Lord Parashurama.
Thiruvanchikulam Temple
The Thiruvanchikulam temple is a Hindu temple
situated in Kodungallur in Thrissur district. The
temple has entrance towers on all the four sides.
The Sanctum (a sacred place) occupies the central
area of the temple. The temple is built by a
legendary Chera king, Cherman Perumal. It was
built during the 8th Century.
Sabrimala temple
The Sabrimala Temple is located in the Perinad Village
of the Pathanamthitta district. It is dedicated to a
Hindu deity Ayyappan. The temple was rebuilt
because of a fire and the stone idol was replaced by
a Panchaloha idol mad from alloy of 5 metals. The
Sanctum Sonctorum is topped by a copper plated
roof with a flagstaff the top. It is believed that the
temple was built by Lord Parshurama.
Ettumanoor Mahadeva Temple
The Ettumanoor Mahadeva Temple is an ancient
Shiva Temple in the Kottayam district of Kerala. The
present temple has a fortress around it . There are
Dravadian mural paintings on the walls inside and
outside of the main entrance. The temple roofs are
covered with copper sheets nad it has 14
ornamental tops. The construction of the temple
was completed in 1542 AD. The temple was built By
Sage Vyasa.
Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple
The Padmanabhswamy Temple is a temple located in
Thiruvananthpuram the capital of Kerala. The
temple is dedicated to Lord Ananta. The temple is
built in the fusion of Dravadian and Chera styles.
The deity is made from 12,008 saligramams (a
fossilied shell). The temple was built by the Local
Kings of Travancore during 16th Century. It is
believed that the Local kings stored immense riches
inside those thick walls and vaults of the temples.
