Essential Question:

Why is it important
for Filipino youth to
learn and share the
literatures of the
past?
Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students
should be able to:

a. differentiate factual from personal recount;


complete sentence prompts through a writing
activity;

b. create a blog using their GENYO account; and

c. value recounts as a means to builds credibility


by stating actual events that happened in the

Activating Prior Knowledge:

1. Recall the flow of the given series of paragraphs from


"Pliant Like the Bamboo."
2. Understand that, "The author of the essay writes at the
present time to recall a past event. This is called a
recount. It is an effective element of a piece of writing
because it builds credibility by stating actual events that
happened in the author's life. Therefore, the readers are
sure that the writer's claim is supported by actual
events."

Assignment #2: Writing for a Blog
using GENYO
Directions:
1.Based on the writing prompt, expand students' thoughts
to a detailed personal recount .( Among the 6 prompts,
select 1 that you would like to continue)
2.Each student has to create a blog by writing a personal
recount in a paragraph of not less than five to seven
sentences.
3.Provide an appropriate title to their paragraph which shall
be uploaded in their GENYO account
