What problem are we trying to solve
• Our startup looks forward to decrease food wastage and to promote
poor peoples with food at very nominal cost.
• Data reveals that India wastes as much food as the whole United
Kingdom eats. In fact, food waste in India is a troubling concern,
and the streets of the country, especially garbage bins and landfills
have ample evidence to prove this. Up to 40 per cent of the food
produced in India is wasted, according to the United Nations
Development Programme.
• Every year in India, about 67 million tonnes of food is wasted a
major part of which comes from households and hotels/restaurants.
What is our solution
• The idea is to collect the wasted food from the households and
restaurants and make it available to the poors.
• Almost every household and restaurants have some extra food which
gets wasted. We will collect the same and get them to collection
center.
• Here the food will get sorted and the food which are fit to eat will be
segregated from spoiled food.
• The spoiled food will be used to make manure for agriculture and the
fresh food will be available for sale to poor people at very very
nominal price.
How will it work
• Brief description of the working model (customer identification and
acquisition, market, business model, Revenue )
• We will acquire food from the households and restaurants in
exchange of rewards points which would be awarded according to the
amount of food.
• The food will be taken to a collecting cum sorting cum delivery center,
where good food will be separated from spoiled food.
• The customers will be able to buy the food from the centers for very
nominal cost, as low as rs.10/ per plate
