GROWING IN
CONFIDENCE
Week 2
Warm-up question

What makes you confident in doing

something?
2 Timothy 1:7

…for God gave us a spirit, not of fear, but of

power and love and self-control.
1. Godly confidence is based on God’s
faithfulness.
The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with Him, we
will also live with Him; if we endure, we will also reign with
Him; if we deny Him, He also deny us; if we are faithless,
He remains faithful – for he cannot deny Himself.

2 Timothy 2:11-13
2. Godly confidence comes from knowing
God’s purpose and grace.
…who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not
because of our works but because of His own purpose
and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the
ages began…

2 Timothy 1:9
3. Godly confidence comes from the
empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift
of God, which is in you through the laying on my
hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of
power and love and self-control.

2 Timothy 1:6-7
