CHARACTERISTIC OF A
GOOD TEST
OBJECTIVITY

• A test should be objective if its free from personal


biases in interpreting its scope as well as in scoring
the responses.
• It can be increased by using more objective type test
items and the answers are scored according to the
model answers provided.
• Objective-basedness, the test should be based on the
determined objectives.

• the test setter should have definite idea about the


objective behind each item.
TWO ASPECTS OF OBJECTIVITY

• Objectivity of scoring – means same persons or


different persons scoring the tests at any time
arrives at the same result without any chance
may error. A test to be objective must necessary
that the only correct answer can be given to it.
• Objectivity of Test Items – by item
objectivity we mean that the item must
call definite single answer. Well
constructive item test should lead
themselves to one and only
interpretation by students who know the
material involve.
DISCRIMINATION
• All assessment is based on comparison, either one
student or another, in between a student as he is now
and as he was earlier. An important feature if a good test
is its capacity to descriminate among the performance if
different or the same student in different point in time.
The extent if needed to discriminate will vary according
to the purpose of the test.
