Telecom Regulatory Authority of India

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is a statutory body and regulates the telecommunications sector in the
country.
It is headquartered in New Delhi.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) was established with effect from February 20, 1997, by an Act of
Parliament, called the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997.
The TRAI Act was amended through the TRAI (Amendment) Act, 2000 (“Amendment Act”). The Amendment Act
established the Telecom Dispute Settlement Appellate Tribunal to solely deal with relevant disputes.
