The following pumping systems may be
required post a Damage to ship:
Fuel
Fire main
FW
Bilge
Ventilation
Tank cleaning
Inerting; etc
PUMPING SYSTEM
Because the services of these systems are
essential, these may be brought online in the
order of requirement.
With power back thru the A/E most of these
pumping systems should be back to normal.
If these are effected by the damage, alternative
arrangements may have to be organized.
DRAINAGE SYSTEM
DRAINAGE SYSTEM
Various means are provided for removing
unnecessary water from within a ship's hull.
Systems of piping and pumping facilities are
installed for this purpose and referred to
as drainage systems.
These systems are vital for removing the water
used in various compartments during
firefighting.
Excess water is certain conditions can cause
concern for ship’s stability aswell (FSE)
