Edwin Locke’s Goals Setting Theory

The goal setting theory was first

studied by Dr. Locke in the Middle
of 19960s. Locke (1996) First
described that the approach of goal
setting theory is based on what
Aristotle called final causality: that
is action caused by consciousness
and volition, It also assumes that
introspective reports provide useful
and valid data for formulating
psychological concept and
measuring psychological
phenomena.

Sayings of Edwin Locke “the more

difficult the goal. the more greater
achievement”
Why setting goals are
important?

 When someone ask you this

question, what will you
answer or how will answer?
Why we should set a Goal for Ourselves?
 Setting goals gives you long-term vision and
short-term motivation . It focuses your
acquisition of knowledge, and helps you to
organize your time and your resources so
that you can make the most of your life.
 By setting sharp, clearly defined goals,
you can measure and take pride in the
achievement of those goals, and you'll
see forward progress in what might
previously have seemed a long pointless
grind. You will also raise your self-
confidence , as you recognize your own
ability and competence in achieving the
goals that you've set.
So, did you already set your goals?
