ABSTRACT

We have planned to propos e a “AUDITORIUM” for the peoples in

and around singanallur Coimbatore . There are so many public &
official meetings and more public functions are conducted. Therefore
we took Auditorium Project. The Auditorium building consists of
Dressing room , Dining hall , Cash Counter and Toilets as per plan
enclosed.
 
  The analysis of the structure is done using Staad Pro. And the design
of slabs, beams, columns, lintel cum sunshade and foundation are
done manually with the help of IS: 456-2000 & SP-16.
 
The area of the Auditorium is 123.96 sq.m.
 
INTRODUCTION
 The main object of our project is to know the
various design aspects like planning, analysis and
design of a Auditorium building. The planning is
done as per the requirements and regulations
given by the National Building Code (NBC).
OBJECTIVE
The aim of the project is to plan, analysis and
design of “Auditorium” with all amenities. It offers
spacious accommodations and generous amenities.
Development of a “toolbox” for the assessment of
life quality in connection with city planning,
transport and mobility.
PLANNING AND DESIGN CONCEPTS
 The Plan of Auditorium is done based on the
guidelines given by the NATIONAL BUILDING
CODE of practices.
 The design part involves RCC structure as it based
on the Limit State Design Method. The loads are
taken from IS 875 1987 and for the design purpose
the following codes are used,
IS:456-2000& SP:16-1978 for Reinforced Cement
Concrete Design.IS:875-1987 for load calculation.

CONCLUSION
An attempt is made to planning, analysis and design
a proposed commercial of “Auditorium” by limit
state method. All designs and analysis are made
manually and using software in accordance to the IS
standards (IS:456-2000, IS:875-1987).

All the slabs and beams are designed by limit state

method. All the information gathered during the
design will be useful in future.
