Scope:

This work Instruction describes the minimum standard for surface preparation and coating of Carbon
Steel and Stainless Steel.

General Requirements:

1- All Machining, Grinding, and Finishing, must be completed prior to Painting.

2- All NDE testing must be completed prior to Painting.

3- Valve will be fully assembled Functionally tested, and Hydro tested to final Assembly
and Test requirements prior to painting.

Once Valve has been fully assembled and tested, it must be disassembled before painting.

Standard and Fabricated Valve Painting:

1. Mask off all areas that are not to be painted.

2. Be sure that all Identifying marks Heat numbers etc will not be undetectable.

3. Clean area to be painted with Cleaner. Let dry

4. Apply Krylon Auto Primer. Make sure Valve is completely covered. Let dry 15 minutes.

5. Apply Krylon Industrial Blue Paint. Cover all areas completely. Let dry 30 minutes minimum.

6. Test Paint thickness. Minimum of 3 mills.

7. Fill out Paint Report and Sign.
