SCANNING
Scanning is a fast reading technique that use rapid eye movement to
find keywords without having to read and understand the entire text.
This technique can be used to find spesific fact quickly.

Steps for scanning:

 Read the question carefully.
 Mark the keywords.
 Think about the keyword synonyms.
 Looking for clues such as number, name, picture, date, or
diagram in the text.

point, it can also done by
read the synopsis which is
sometimes written in the
back of the books.

Previewing and predirecting are two pre-reading activities activating concepts and
that give reader an overview of what they going to read background knowledge
without having to read the entire text. Also, this two based on their own life
activities will prepare the reader's mind toward the content experience.

Rasanya”, we can guess that
the book talks about many kind
of feelings. The Writer is Tere
Liye. The book category is
Fiction. Other infromations we

From the back cover, we can
read some paragraphs and
quotes about feeling especially
love. Its also puts about the
reader feeling that may love to
read this book such as falling in
love, insecure, brave, shy, or
even the simple love. So, we
can imagine this book will give
stories about many kind
feelings.
 SKIMMING

Skimming and scanning are speed reading tehniques

using keyword. Skimming used to find out the general
overview or main idea of the text.

Tips to do skimming:
 Firstly take a look at the text heading and title, 
 Read first and last sentence of each paragraph quickly,
and
 Pay your attention to the illustrations or pictures for more
information.

Topic is the general description of a text, a matter dealt

with in a text, discourse, or conversation, a subject from a
text. Topic is the main organizing principle of a
discussion, either verbal or written. Topics are simple and
are described with just a word or a phrase
 The Legend of Surabaya
A long time ago, there were two animals, Sura and Baya. Sura was the name
of a shark and Baya was a crocodile. They lived in a sea. One day, Sura and

was very angry when he knew that Sura broke the promise. They fought
again.They both hit each other. Sura bit Baya’s tail. Baya did the same thing
to Sura. He bit very hard until Sura finally gave up and went back to the sea.
