IMAGINARY SOCIOLOGY
Social imaginary
Definition of Imaginary Sociology

 Sociological imagination: The application of imaginative

thought to the asking and answering of sociological
questions. Someone using the sociological imagination
"thinks himself away" from the familiar routines of daily life.
 Sociological imagination is an outlook on life that tries to
break away from the monotony of day-to-day life.
Specifically, the sociological imagination involves an
individual developing a deep understanding of how their
biography is a result of historical process and occurs within
a larger social context
Significance of Imaginary Sociology

The sociological imagination enables us to
grasp history and biography and the relations
between the two within society. That is its task
and its promise." The concept is to understand
the distinction between a person's troubles
and public issues.

proclaim thatglobalization is happening and cannot
bestopped

Globalization does not promote the agenda of any specific

class or group

Globalists are not dictating their own agenda on people

6. Globalization requires a global war on terror

9-11 attack which combines the idea of economic globalization

with the American brand of right wing foreign policy (openly
militaristic and nationalistic)

Prior to 9-11 attack, dominated by Western Europe, United

States and Japan – led by Osama Bin Laden’s Al-Qaeda

Ensuing aggressive, militaristic US foreign policy is a response

to protect the gains of globalization
