LESSON GOAL
• To equip the students to integrate and represent a wide range of
intelligence and investigation from a variety of sources into a
consistently organized intelligence through the use of IBM i2 Analysis
notebook.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
• At the end of this lecture, the students will be able to:
• 1. Discuss the Background of Case Management Analysis System
(CMAS)
• 2. Identify the Link Diagram, Timeline and Call Detail Record; and

BACKGROUND/MOTIVATION
• The CMAS is the guide toward realizing effective modern
investigation. CMAS Analysis provides law enforcement leaders with
understanding of crime trends and patterns which will support crime
investigation, tactical operations, strategic planning, decision making
and policy formulation.

• CMAS is envisioned to further hone the Group’s anti-criminality
capability by using modern technology. It generates Link diagrams and
timelines that clearly depict the organization, relationship and
nefarious activities of Organized Crime Group (OCGs) and Criminal
Gang (CGs).

• CMAS outputs present the complete and clear-cut illustration of
various factors which supplements accurate analysis.

• CMAS involves data analysis and visualization for effective intelligence
analysis that acts as a visual intelligence environment that can
optimize the value of massive amounts of information collected by
government agencies and businesses.

• With an intuitive and contextual design it allows analysts to quickly
collate, analyses and visualize data from disparate sources while
