TASK 1
Identify what needs there
are and its action plan,
including priorities for
managing the hazards
key tasks the workers carried out every day when
preparing the requirements to support their work
• moving the medical supplies from their
storage locations to the area of use
• using specialised equipment
• transferring chemicals
• moving patients

4 MM.DD.20XX
TASK 1

Identified Hazards
During an inspection, an identified number of
hazards were seen, including the following:
o the chemicals were not safely stored
o there was no process for using the
specialised equipment

TAKE NOTE: The equipment needed to

move patients was old and not working
properly which caused a hazard as
workers needed to then use their own
5
strength to move patients. MM.DD.20XX
TASK 1

Chemical Storage, Our

Action Plan!
o The first step in managing risks involves identifying
all the chemicals that are used, handled, stored or
generated in workplace in consultation with workers.
o Must prepare a Safety Data Sheet, the SDS contains
information on the identity of the product and any
hazardous ingredients, potential health effects,
toxicological properties, physical hazards, safe use,
handling and storage, emergency procedures, and
disposal requirements specific to the chemical.
o The manufacturer and importer of a hazardous
chemical must ensure it is correctly labelled as soon
as practicable after manufacturing or importing the
hazardous chemical.
6 MM.DD.20XX
TASK 1

Specialized Equipment, Our
