Classification of living things

Classification of living things is a systematic way to study living things by paying attention the
similarities or differences of the characteristics and properties, whether visible or not.

The purpose of the classification

of living things is to make it
easier to recognize diverse
living things

The branch of biology that deals with naming, detailing, and grouping living
things based on their similarities and differences

Stages of classification of living things:
1. Character identification stage
2. The stage of grouping based on the Rules for naming living things based on
observed characteristics binomial nomenclatur
3. Give group name 1. Scientific language using latin or
latinized
2. The first word indicates the genus
and the second word indicates the
species
3. The first word starts with a capital
letter and the second word beging
with a lowercase letter
4. The first and second words must be
Oryza sativa underlined separately or in italics

Panthera tigris 5. The second word describes the
second word
Taxonomic
level

the higher the level of taxon, the more members of the taxon, but the less
common the characteristics.and conversely, the lower the level of the taxon,
the fewer the number of taxa, but the more common characteristics
Determinant Key Terms of creating a
determinant key

Information compiled to determine groups

of living things based on the characteristics 1. Key must dichotomous (opposite)
they have 2. Features entered are easy to understand
3. Character description with general terms so that it is
easy to understand
Classification system

This classification of living things was

grouped by Aristoteles, which was later
refined by Coralus Lennaeus, this
classification of living things has the
advantage of being able to classify two
large group living things based on their
physical characteristics. While the
weakness of this classification is that the
classification is still too general and less
specific.
Bacteri dan ganggang biru
This system was coined by Herbert Copeland
(1938).The name of the kingdom protista was
changed to the name protoctists because
members of this kingdom are protists that have a
nuclear membrane and a group of fungi, the
kingdom monera consists of those who formerly
belonged to protists that did not have a nuclear
membrane
Five kingdoms
classification

This classification is a based on the grouping carried

out by R.H Whittaker, namely on the equation of the
chemical structure of the cell, the origin of heredity
and the similarity of genes.on this basis all living
things can enter certain groups but not more than one
group.
Six kingdom classification

This classification was discovered by Carl Woese who

divided the prokaryote / kingdom monera into two
group, namely eubacteria and archaebacteria based on
genetic similarities, emphasized on external
appearance or behavior
The eight kingdom classification system was
devised by Cavalier-Smith which is based on the
separation of Eubacteria and Archeabacteria
because they have different genetic distances from
ribosomal genes. Then he initiated the kingdom
Eight Kingdom Chromista which is a separation from the kingdom
Classification Plantae on the basis of the location of the
chloroplasts and Chromista has chlorophyll C
which is not owned by Plantae. and the idea of
Kingdom Archezoa also emerged which was based
on the existence of protists that did not have
mitochondria
Six kingdom classification

In the following year Cavalier-Smith published

a system of classification of six kingdoms, by
disagreeing with Woese's idea of the separation
of bacteria and archaea, instead including
Archea into the kingdom bacteria. and the
kingdom archezoa is included in the kingdom
protozoa
Seven kingdom
Classification

1. Kingdom Bacteria
2. Kingdom Archaea
In 2015, a scientific journal entitled "A Higher Level 3. Kingdom Protozoa
classification of All Living Organisms" revised the 4. Kingdom Chromista
classification system stating that archae and bacteria are 5. Kingdom fungi
separated into different kingdoms. 6. Kingdom plantae
7. Kingdom animalia.

Natural system classificatin

Phylogenetic system
The members that make up the taxonomic classificatin
unit occur naturally or naturally as desired
by nuture. This classification is based on
natural morphological simmilaritis and The phylogenetic system is arranged based
differences on the close relationship between one taxon
and another
