Spiritual Leadership
Purpose: Intrinsically motivate followers through
practicing spirituality values and exhibiting altruistic
love in the workplace

Essential: Creating a vision wherein leaders and


followers experience a sense of calling so that their
lives have purpose, meaning and makes a difference

Methodology: Establishing a organizational culture


based on the values of altruistic love whereby leaders
and followers have a sense of membership, feel
understood and appreciated

Organizational Spiritual Leadership: Emphasizes a


less leader-centric approach, focusing on engaging all
group members to meet spiritual needs and enhance
organizational commitment and performance.
Dark Leadership

● The mistakes made by leaders in areas that concern


the large part of a society such as business life,
politics and religion, now reveal the necessity of
evaluating the dark aspects of leadership
● The study conducted by Uygur and Gümüştekin
(2019) identified eleven different types of dark leader
behaviors in between 1994 and 2018.
● Hubris leadership behavior is identified as the leader
uses his power over his followers for along time and
does not recognize any obstacles to limit himself due
to his success during this period.
● In further studies on dark leadership, harassing
behaviors, narcissistic behaviors, insincere behaviors
and bullying behaviors are defined
Self leadership

• self-leadership refers to the capacity to identify and apply one’s signature strengths to initiate, maintain, or
sustain self-influencing behaviors.
• Self leadership is not same as self management as self management influence how of work and dependent
on extrinsic incentive whereas sel leadership influence over what, how and why of work and dependent on
both intrinsic and extrinsic incentive

● The one commonality is that all these forms of leadership has (except dark leadership) is that they
have a positive approach and aims to better some aspect of either own-self or the people around
● A spiritual leadership might need a group that beliefs in the same altruistic thoughts while the rest
might not need such a group
● An authentic leader is practical while an ethical leader is theoretical
● People who have no strong sense of self-leadership tend to feel they are not in control of
themselves, often lack focus and get overwhelmed easily and thus influencing dark leadership.

Yes , these leaderships styles influence each other as they are all positive forms of leadership and
inculcating one automatically gives motivation, stimulus and reasons to adopt and understand the
other.
