Basis
Def:- A basis for a vector space is a sequence of vectors
with two properties:

The basis vectors are linearly independent or They
span the space.
Indepent or dependent vectors

What is linear independent?

What is linear dependent?

Elaboration.
Def of linear independent
 The vectors a1, ..., an are called linearly
independent if there exist trival combination
of vectors equal to the zero vector.
 That is, the vector a1, ..., an are linearly
independent if x1a1 + ... + xnan = 0
Def of linear dependent
 The vectors a1, ..., an are called linearly
dependent if there exists a non-trivial
combination of these vectors is equal to
the zero vector.

 Let S be a non-empty subset of a
vector space V. av1,av2

 The set of all linear

combinations of elements of S
is called linear span of S .
 Denoted by <S>

Defination of dimension

Dimension of a space is the
number of vectors in every
basis.

or Every basis for the space has
the same no. of vectors and this
number is dimension.
Finite-dimension or infinite-dimension
