 What is Carrageenan?
Carrageen is extracted from red edible seaweeds and
processed into powder form, which is an abundant raw
material in the Philippines.

It is a natural polymer, with long molecules like a chain of

paperclips, that are not easily absorbed by plants.

The agricultural benefits of carrageenan come from its

individual building blocks, the paperclips, or so-called
oligomers (short molecules).
What is Electronic Beam (EB)
Acceleration?
EB is: “… a process which involves using beta
radiation to treat an object for a variety of purposes”.

“The effect of the acceleration of electrons can cause

the degradation of polymers, breaking chains and
therefore reducing the molecular weight. Electron
Beam processing provides ‘Chain Scission’ without the
use of harsh chemicals”.
 What is VITALGRO?
Vitalgro has undergone Electronic Beam Acceleration
treatment to break down the long molecules of
Carrageenan into much smaller building blocks or
individual ‘paperclips’ for optimum plant growth
through leave absorption.

It is processed into a foliar fertilizer that contains

micro and macro essential elements, as well as
phytohormones to aid in photosynthesis.
 How does VITALGRO work?
• When Vitalgro is sprayed onto the leaves, it increases
leaf activity by enhancing photosynthesis and stimulates
root nutrient absorption, which leads to improved
overall health, growth and development of the plants.

• As a liquid plant food, Vitalgro contains readily available

nutrients and growth hormones to correct nutrient
deficiencies, strengthen damaged crops and their
immune system.

What are the research and science-
based benefits of Vitalgro in rice?
• Increase average rice yields by more than 20% over
and above standard fertilization practice.
• Improve resistance to Tungro virus and bacterial leaf
blight of rice.
• Enhance the presence of friendly insects that help
control infestation of destructive insects like green
leaf hopper and brown plant hopper, which are
vectors of disease.
• Vitalgro is a non-toxic and natural product
