Read the following text about personality types, then
answer the activities in next slides in your notebook .
People have different personalities. Personality is what makes people individuals and unique. However,
the Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung (1875-1961) introduced two types of personality; extroverts and
introverts. Accordingly, most people have both types, but often they are more one type than the other.

Extroverts are individuals who feel energized and renewed by interactions and conversations with
other and by joining social events. In another words, they are outgoing and interested in meeting new
people. They are also friendly, sociable, talkative, enthusiastic, self-confident. Extroverts tends to act
first then think later. Thus, when they are not feeling good, they might call a friend or go shopping.
Sales, teaching, and management are some fields where typical extroverts work.

In contrast, introverts describes persons who tend to turn inward mentally. They avoid large groups of
people, feeling more energized and more comfortable by spending time alone where they enjoys ideas
and thinking. Introvert individuals are usually quiet, thoughtful and may be shy people. Thus, in
situations, they think, anlayse and consider before talking or taking any action. However, when
introverts are feeling bad or stressed, they look deep inside themselves for motivation and energy.
Introverts work as engineers, writers and inventors.
