We now spend 90% of our time indoors, thus we are deprived of the benefits of natural
lighting on our bodies and minds.
Although these days we have longer periods of light in a 24 hour time period, we’re
now exposed to less sunshine as compared to earlier times.
We’re getting used to strange tones of light in a given time of a day.
Exposure to bright white light in the evening or night has been associated with
reduction of both sleep time and sleep quality.
Nowadays, many people sleep with dim lights, but a study has found out that they are
more likely to experience symptoms of depression or gain weight as compared to
people who sleep in darkness.
Smart daily light rhythms were created using LEDs, these helped to create an internal
light environment that was reflective of what was happening at a given time of a day.
