Task
Draw a 3D model from the 2D Orthographic
Projection assigned to you. The units shown
should be according to your assigned units.

Steps on drawing
the 3D model
1. Create new document

2. Select “Part” then OK

3. Select options
4. Click document properties and select
Custom as your unit system.
Click inches and select feet then click OK.

5. Click “Extruded Boss/Base” in the


Features Tab.

6. Select Top Plane


7. Click rectangle in the Sketch Tab.
Select center rectangle from drop down
menu

8. Create a rectangle at the origin


with the following dimensions.
Use smart dimensions

9. Click “Exit Sketch” at the Sketch


Tab.
10. Choose Blind Option and set the depth to
1.50 then press the green check.
Enter this formula, 0.25*6 according to the
dimensions provided.

11. Save the project

12. Click “Extruded Cut” and click the front


face of the extruded base.
Set view to Front Plane
13. Using centerline, draw a diagonal
line from the opposite corners of
the rectangle.

14. Draw a line connecting the


diagonal to the right side of the
rectangle.
15. Using Smart Dimensions, set the
distance of the new line between
the upper line of the rectangle to
16.Finish drawing the polygon by
drawing more lines like this.

17.Exit the sketch.

18.Change extrusion to through all


and press the green check.
19. Click on extruded cut and still
select the front face of the model.

20. Connect these two points with a


line as shown.

21. Complete the triangle by drawing


more lines like these.
22. Exit the sketch.

23. Choose the blind option and set the


depth to 0.50ft.
The 3D Model should look like
this:
