Defining Business Research

applied research.
• Applied research directly addresses the
problem at hand. Applied research is launched

specific problem.

• Basic Research : The other is to generate a body of

problems, that occur in organizations, can be solved.
• It is quite possible that some organizations may later
on apply the knowledge gained by the findings of
such basic research to solve their own problems.

specific problem and its findings cannot be
immediately applied.
