EVENTS OF CALVARY

 The Desire of Ages as a Resource for every

Christian
 pp. 589-604 details the Crucifixion of Jesus
EVENTS OF CALVARY

 1.Jesus was the ADVOCATE of MAN in the Father’s

presence

Though men stripped Him of His raiment, they cannot rob

him of His power to forgive sins!!!

“Father, forgive them for they know not what they

do.”
EVENTS OF CALVARY
 2. In His suffering, the LIGHT of TRUTH was shining
How many among us acknowledge Jesus in the time of
our suffering?
The penitent thief acknowledged Him and was rewarded
with overwhelming peace of acceptance with God
“Verily I say unto Thee today Thou shalt be
with Me in Paradise”
The words of pardon kindled the LIGHT that will SHINE
to the earth’s remotest bounds.
EVENTS OF CALVARY

 3. Even the Angels were amazed at the ff:

1. While bearing the cross, he thought of the weeping
mothers and was still sympathetic of others.
“Weep not for me but weep for yourselves and for your children”
2. As a High Priest and Advocate, He pleaded to the
Father for our forgiveness

Angels were amazed:

 3. As a loving Savior He had forgiven the sins of a thief

 4. He even remembered to provide care for His mother
amid His own physical pain
“ Woman Behold They son, Son Behold Thy Mother

“The spotless Son of God hung upon the cross, His flesh
lacerated with stripes…
Those hands so often reached out in blessing, nailed to the
wooden bars..
Those feet so tireless on ministries of love, spiked to the tree..
That royal head pierced by crown of thorns,,,
Those quivering lips shaped to the cry of the woe…

“And all that He endured ---the blood drops that flowed from
His head, His hands,His feet, the agony that racked His
frame…

And the unutterable anguish that filled His soul at the hiding
of His Father’s face---speacks to each child of humanity,
declaring..
IT IS FOR THEE THAT THE SON OF GOD
CONSENTS tO BEAR THIS BURDEN OF GUILT!!!!

 “For thee He spoils the domain of death, and opens the

gates of Paradise.
 “He who stilled the angry waves and walked the foam-
capped billows, who made devils tremble and disease
flee…
 “He who opened blind eyes and called forth the the dead
to life ---offers Himself upon the cross as a sacrifice, and
this from love to Thee

 He, the Sin Bearer, endures the wrath of divine

justice, and for thy sake becomes
SIN itself!!!!
IT IS FINISHED!!!

 “Father, into Thy hands I commend my Spirit”

 Jesus understood His father’s justice, mercy, and His great

love.
 In submission He committed himself to God
 By faith, Christ was the Victor!!!
The Inner Veil of the Temple torn

 Hebrews 10:10

 “By that will we have been sanctified thru the offering of

the body of Jesus Christ once for All”

 Jesus the Savior is now the High Priest advocating for us

in heaven
Questions to ponder???

Isthe life we are living now worth the

Sacrifice He made?
Bought with a Price
 Therefore our life should fulfill His will of glorifying him
in Body and in Spirit

 Ephesians 5:8-22
 Walk as children of light
 Walk in wisdom
 Be Spirit-filled
 Give thanks always
 Submitting to one another
Bought with a Price

 Galatians 5:16-22
Walk in the Spirit
Bear Fruits of the Spirit—
 LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONGSUFFERING, KINDNESS,
GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS, SELF-
CONTROL
 Galatians 6;9-10
Do not grow weary in doing good
REDEEMING LOVE

This love was displayed on the cross, a love that knows no

limit, a love that will not seek its own

From the very beginning, the plan of redemption was in place

The Law of life was the God as the Source flowing thru Christ
to all created , thru the Son it returns, a tide of Love to the
Great Source. The Circuit of Beneficence is complete with
Christ.
CHRISTIANS SHOULD AVOID ALL
SELF-EXALTATION

 Christ as the GREAT GIVER—Living Sacrifice

 Christ Unites us with God

 Satan
Separates us from God and encourages
SELF-EXALTATION
RECONCILED THRU CALVARY

2 Corinthians 5:17
 “If Anyone is in Christ , he is a new creation old
things have passed away, behold all things have
become new…
 19—”God was in Christ reconciling the world to
Himself”
Finally….

2 Corinthians 5:20,21

 Now then, we are Ambassadors for Christ…

 That we should live lives worth the sacrifice, worth
the sacrifice of Christ manifested thru Calvary’s
Love!!!
