Online Learning

⮚ Is education that takes place over the Internet.

▪ It is often referred to as “e- learning” among other terms.
⮚The term "e-learning" is used synonymously with online learning and
concerns the online delivery of instructional content as well as
associated support services to students.
▪ However, online learning is just one type of “distance learning” - the
umbrella term for any learning that takes place across distance and
not in a traditional classroom.
Advantages of Online Learning

1. Flexibility
Students have the freedom to juggle their careers and school because
they aren't tied down to a fixed schedule.

2. Reduced Costs
Online education can cost less due to a variety of reasons. For
example, there is no cost for commuting.

3. Comfort
Forget about attending classes for hours, sitting in an uncomfortable
chair, and suffering from back pain by the end of the day. You will not be
bound to physical class session when you opt for online education.
Advantages of Online Learning

4. Online Learning Accommodates Everyone’s Needs

The online method of learning is best suited for everyone.

5. Lectures Can Be Taken Any Number Of Times

Unlike classroom teaching, with online learning you can
access the content an unlimited number of times.
6. Offers Access To Updated Content
A prime benefit of learning online is that it makes sure that
you are in synchronization with modern learners. This
enables the learner to access updated content whenever
they want it.
Advantages of Online Learning

7. Scalability
eLearning helps in creating and communicating new training,
policies, concepts, and ideas. Whether it is for formal education or
entertainment, eLearning is a very quick way of learning!

8. Consistency
eLearning enables educators to get a higher degree of coverage
to communicate the message in a consistent way for their target
audience. This ensures that all learners receive the same type of
training with this learning mode.
Advantages of Online Learning
9. Self-paced learning.
When you start browsing through interesting online courses and
programs, you’ll notice the Self-Paced label on most of them.

10. Documentation
All the information that you will need will be safely stored in an
online database.

11. Increased Instructor - Student Time

Students in traditional classrooms may not get the personalized
attention they need to have concepts clarified.
Advantages of Online Learning
12. Effectiveness
eLearning has a positive influence on an organization’s profitability. It makes it easy to
grasp the content and digest it.

13. Less Impact On Environment

As eLearning is a paperless way of learning, it protects the environment to a lot of
extent.
