Takeoff
Takeoff thrust can be increased by using:
1. APU-TO-PACK TAKEOFF.
2. APU-TO-PACK TAKEOFF BUMP.
3. APU-TO-PACK IMPROVE CLIMB.
NOTES:

4. Assumed Temperature Method (ATM) is not allowed

with APU-to-PACK takeoff.
2. APU-to-PACK takeoff performance is equivalent to
PACKS OFF takeoff performance. If APU is under MEL,
use PACKS OFF supplementary chapter in FCOM.

4
APU-to-PACK Takeoff
B777-368
APU-to-PACK takeoff may be used with 115BL thrust where
enhanced aircraft performance is required. It is also used in
combination with the BUMP thrust rating.

The APU-to-PACK takeoff is only approved at actual

temperature up to a maximum airport pressure altitude of
6,900 ft.

APU-to-PACK takeoff charts are provided for a set of

selective airports where maximum performance is needed
(i.e. increased takeoff weight), other airports may be
requested from FPE via dispatch office.
5
BUMP Takeoff
B777-368
BUMP thrust may be used to facilitate increased takeoff
performance in combination with APU-to-PACK takeoff. The
BUMP engine thrust provides approximately 2% additional
increase in takeoff thrust.

Takeoff BUMP may be used when airport pressure altitude is

between -2000 and +3000 feet at ambient temperatures
between 32 and 53 °C.

NOTE: ATM is not allowed with BUMP takeoff.

GENERAL B777-300 (THE BUMP 115BL1)
115BL1 engine rating provides the BUMP to increase the
thrust when airport pressure altitude is between -2000 ft to
3000 ft at ambient temperature between 32ºC to 53ºC.

In addition, the APU generates the air conditioning during

takeoff instead of using engine bleed, maximizing the takeoff
weight.
