EARLY CHILDHOOD
 •Early childhood defined as the period from 3 up to 8years old. It is
a time of remarkable growth with brain development at its peak.
During this age , children are highly influenced by the environment
and the people that surround them.
 Early childhood is also referred to as the pre-school
years and consists of years which follow toddlerhood
and precede formal schooling.

IN EARLY CHILDHOOD
 The components of child development. Scientists
 describe  child development as COGNITIVE ,
SOCIAL,EMOTIONAL and PHYSICAL. While children’s
development is commonly describe in these
categories.
MIDDLE CHILDHOOD
 Middle childhood defined as ages 6 up to 12 is a
time when children develop foundational skills for
building healthy social relations and learn roles that
will prepare them for adolescence and adulthood.  
 The ages of six through eleven or twelve
comprise middle childhood and much of what
children experience at this age is connected to
their involvement in the early grades  of school.
 Growth rates slow down and children are able to
refine their motor skills at this point in life. And
children begin to learn about social relationships
beyond the family through interaction with friend
and fellow student.

 children this age group might : SHOW RAPID
DEVELOPMENT OF MENTAL SKILLS . Learn better
ways to describe experiences and talk about
thoughts and feelings. Have less focus on one’s self
and more concern for others.
