Introduction
• 3D Printing is a form of additive manufacturing technology
where a three-dimensional object is created by laying down
successive layers of material.

• It is also known as Additive manufacturing.

• 3D Printing is achieved using an additive process, where

successive layers of material are laid down in different shapes.

3D Printable Models

• 3D Printable models may be created with a computer-

aided design (CAD) package, Lithophane.

• The manual modeling process of preparing geometric

data for 3D computer graphics is similar to plastic arts
such as sculpting.

• 3D Scanner is a process of analyzing and collecting

data of real object: Its shape, appearance and builds
digital three-dimensional models.
Assembly parts
2.Machine Parts
3. Extruder drawing
4. Mother Board
5. Stepper motor
• Has used NEMA17 model
• It can give upto maximum
1.7AMP current
• Input voltage 8V-35V
• It has 1.8 degree revolution for
maximum high precision.
• Has 4.5kg torque/cm
• Bipolar
6. Heat Bed
• Has two types heat bed
• Cartesian ; Circular (Delta)
• We used a Cartesian type
because more spacious space
to print.
• Easily available in market.
• Cost is less.
• Low power conservable.
• Thickness 3.2mm.
• Temperature 60C-120C.
7. Hot End
• Helps in heating the PLA material
• Temperature 180C-230C
• It consists of 3 parts nozzle,
stainless steel heat brake,
aluminium heater block
• Voltage 12V
• Material 1.75mm
• Nozzle 0.4mm
• Has thermistor for heating the
stainless steel
8. SMPS
• An electronic power supply
helps for converting the
electrical power efficiently.
• Converts from AC to DC
• Output Voltage 12V
• Input voltage 220v
• Working principle: converted in
to DC by rectification process
through rectifier and filter
9. Smart LCD Display
• 20x4 line LCD display
• Connected to ramps 1.4 board
• Advantages: No need of pc, SD card inbuilt
Fused Deposition Modelling
• Material is drawn through a nozzle,
where it is heated and is then
deposited layer by layer.
• Layers are fused together upon
deposition as the material is in
melted state
• PLA material is used for printing
• Objects made using FDM have
smooth surfaces.
• FDM technique is highly accurate
and durable.
PROCESS INVOLVED IN ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
MARLIN
• It contain fully featured G-code which contains
approximately about 150 commands.
• It also has complete G-code movement suit that include
lines,aecs etc.
• Marlin has smart motion system, interrupt based movement
and linear acceleration.
• It supports for up to 5 extruders and a heated print bed.
• The LCD controller UI has around 20 language translations.
• It supports Cartesian, Delta, SCARA kinematics.
Applications
Industrial uses
• Mass production
• Rapid prototyping
• Rapid manufacturing
• Mass customization
Domestic and Hobbylist uses
• Clothing.
• 3D Bio printing.
• 3D Printing for implant and medical devices.
• 3D Printing services.
Future scope
• Future applications for 3D Printing might include creating open
source scientific equipment to create open source labs.

• Science based applications like reconstruction fossils in

paleontology.

• Replicating ancient and priceless ArtiCrafts in Archeology.

• Reconstructing bones and body parts in forensic pathology.

CONCLUSION
• 3D Printing technology could revolutionize and reshape the
world. Advances in 3d printing technology can significantly
change and improve the way we manufacture products and
produce goods worldwide.

• If the last industrial revolution brought us mass production and

the advent of economies of scale, the 3D Printing revolution
could bring mass manufacturing back a full circle to an era of
mass personalization, and a return to craftsmanship.
