Educational policy
 Educational policy Education policy are the
principles and government policy-making in the
educational sphere, as well as the collection of laws
and rules that govern the operation of education
systems. 
National educational commission
1959
 National education commission 1959 National
Commission of education was adopted by
Government on 30th December 1958.

 This commission was known as Sharif commission.


Its chairman was S.M Sharif.

 The main reason was that the existing system of


education was not adequate to meet the
requirements of national.
 This commission was lunched by President
Mohammad Ayub Khan on 5 January 1959.

 On 5th January 1959 the Commission started to


prepared education policy. On Aug 26, 1959.

 Aug 26, 1959, the Commission submitted its report


covers 350 pages.
Objectives of commission
 Religious education was made compulsory in this
commission.
  Equal expansion for boys and girls.
 Training of manpower, educated citizen and
competent leadership required for the country.
  To meet the individual and collective need and
aspirations of the people of the country.
 To provide individuals full opportunities to develop
their skills and development for all .
  Vocational abilities needed for the creation of a
progressive and democratize society.
  Preservations of the ideas which led to the creation
of Pakistan and strengthening the concept of it with
the unified nation.
 To create a sense of unity and of nationhood among
the people of Pakistan.
  Training of leadership group in engineering the
skills of government and commercial development.
The commission analyzed
 All the previous reports and prevailing situation of
country.

 The reforms movements in other societies.

 And submitted a comprehensive report to


government after one year in 1960.

  The arts,  education of children with disabilities,
educational institutions, and of military training.
Recommendations of commission

 Character building
  Compulsory primary education
  Focus on science and technical education 
 National language as medium of instruction
 Three year degree program
 Elimination of illiteracy.
Implementation
 Implementation The National Education
commission recommendation were useful but due to
the conditions of country and the situation of
resource they are not applied well.
