EFFECTIVENESS OF KATARUNGANG

PAMBARANGAY SYSTEM IN THE

SELECTED BARANGAYS OF BAGABAG,
NUEVA VIZCAYA
RESEARCH OBJECTIVES
 
The main objective of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the
implementation of Katarungang Pambarangay in the selected barangays of
Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya to improve access to justice for the poor in a less
expensive litigation.
Specifically, the study aims to:
1. Identify the cases filed in the Katarungang Pambarangay of the selected
barangays in the past five (5) years.
2. Determine the challenges encountered by the Katarungang Pambarangay in the
settlement of cases filed in terms of:
a. Mediation proceedings;
b. Concilliation proceedings; and
c. Arbitration Proceedings.
3. Identify the cases endorsed to higher authorities.
4. Determine the innovations implemented by the barangay in
the Katarungang
• Pambarangay system in terms of:
a. Acceptance of complaints and
b. Settling of cases.
5. Distinguish the processes implemented before and during
the COVID-19 pandemic.
