IF CLAUSE

If clause is used to express a condition or supposition.
There are some patterns of it that can be used to express
different implications with certain condition.

1. Instructing/ Commanding
If Clause + Imperative

Example:
 If you are so sleepy, turn off the television and go to bed.
 If you want to eat fried noodle, cook it yourself.
2. Suggesting

If Clause + should/can

Example:
 If you want to be a singer, you should practice singing well.
If you want to hear some explanation about the place , you can hire the guide

3. Showing possibility/result

If Clause + can
Example:
 If you work hard everyday, you can be the manager in
your office
 If I finish my work today, I can have a peaceful weekend
5. Stating General Truth

If Clause + simple present tense

Example:
 If you don’t eat for a week, you
die.
 If you close your eyes, you see
nothing.
