Philippines
• African night crawler – from West Africa
• Dr. Rafael D. Guerrero – Introduced vermiculture in the
philippines.

• Vermi - Latin for “worm”
• Vermiculture - culture of earthworms.
• Vermicomposting - refers to the aerobic process
that aids earthworms to produce organic compost
through animal and plant waste decomposition.
• African night crawlers (anc), (Eudrilus
Eugeniae) responsible for composting. "Red Worm"
(Eisenia fetida) and the "Indian Blues" (Perionyx excavatus)

fertilizer
• Substrate - fed to the worms.
